You can know me here as Moss—a 號 (hao), or pen name, chosen for my tattoo practice.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and spent many childhood summers haunting the peat bogs and rugged coasts of rural Donegal. Ten years ago, at the age of 17, I moved to Cornwall to pursue a degree in illustration, and can’t seem to leave this beautiful county. A self-described human mutt, my mixed-race heritage has given me an awareness shaped by stark contrasts, otherness, the murky beauty of in-between spaces, and the deep commonalities that belie our perceived differences.

I joined Mishmash Tattoos in 2022, where I trained under studio owner Hamish’s mentorship. Working alongside Hamish and Marta has been an intense, challenging, and thoroughly rewarding experience. Their passion for tattooing and their belief in my work has shaped how I approach this craft and helped me grow in ways I could never have anticipated.
